LECTURE A: Let's Get Started + PDF Worksheet +Webinar: Part I

WHAT TO BUY (OR BORROW)

Scale

Before you get started selling on Etsy, you’ll need to get access to a scale of some sort. If you have a digital OR non-digital postal or kitchen scale --yay! You’re all set. If you don’t have one of these, here are other options:

● Borrow one from a friend or neighbor,

● Plan to go to a friend or neighbor’s house to weigh your item,

● Run to Walmart or Target and pick up a cheap kitchen scale,

● Click HERE to find a link to a cheap kitchen scale on Amazon, or

● Click HERE to find a link to a postal scale on Amazon.

Note: Whenever you buy anything at all using my link to an Amazon product, I

get a small commission--thanks in advance :)

Here’s what my simple, plastic kitchen scale looks like. I used it to sell my very first item on eBay and it worked fine. I simply added an extra ounce or two to the weight of my item since these scales don’t tend to be perfectly accurate.

White Poster Board

Good quality photos will drastically improve your chances of making sales on Etsy (and eBay). In a lesson coming up shortly, I'll teach you how to take good photos without a huge financial investment.

In preparation for that lesson, please purchase a piece of white poster board (22" x 28"), unless you already own a light box. Usually these can be found at a dollar store, two for a dollar.

WHAT TO PRINT

Worksheet

Below this lesson you will find a worksheet that you can use to keep track of information relevant to your Etsy account and to conduct research on your first listing. Print it out now and keep it handy as we move through the course.
